Oh, what rapture filled his bosom for he saw the living God!

What a wonderful conference weekend!  I'm grateful I had the weekend off and we were able to be together as a family to hear the words of the prophet and the apostles.

My title to this post is taken from the hymn 'Joseph Smith's First Prayer'.  These words filled my mind several times over the weekend as I listened to the words of our prophet in these days...

We are so blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the earth in these latter days!

In parting and since I haven't posted in a while - here's a fun picture I ran across of Asher.

Enjoy!  :)

An Asher - English Translation Guide

So, Asher is talking quite a bit.  I've compiled an Asher to English translation guide, should anyone be wondering what exactly he is saying...

Arr-rar (or ee-ee): TV or movie
Haiyi's: Police cars, airplanes, or anything with a flashing light on it
Gonnies: Blanket(s)
Go-go: Motorcycle
Wa-er: Water or food
Mommy: Used for any person Asher likes (even Dad and Kadie) and he likes to put this at the end of every  sentence!

To be continued.  :)

A Change of Scenery...

Well, while I'm at it tonight I thought I'd give the update on our life here in Jerome.

After much debate amongst ourselves and prayer and so on we have decided to make a change.  I received a job offer from the hospital in town (St. Luke's Jerome) to do strictly inpatient pharmacy and we decided to go for it.  The reasons are many - but I won't list them all out for you.  I'm sure we'll talk about it sometime down the road.  :)  Suffices to say, working at the hospital will be an excellent move for our family.

Since I'm moving on from retail, I thought it would be appropriate to share this funny poem with you all in parting... it is posted in the pharmacy, but the author is unknown.  Enjoy!

Rx Poem
By Dr. Pharma Seuss

Oh the things you can fill
For the folks who are ill.
With your bright shiny spatula
Oh, what a thrill!

Besmocked and bedecked out
In Pharmacist clothes
Knowing all of the things
That a Pharmacist Knows.

You're quick and efficient,
You're sharp and inventive.
It also just happens
You're anal retentive.

You need slips of paper
To get the specifics
From doctors who scribble out
Strange hieroglyphics.

Could it be Celebrex?
Or maybe Celexa
It might be a Z-pack
Then it might be Zyprexa.

And you will bill by computer
AWP
Minus 15 percent
Plus a buck twenty-three.

You fill and you bill
And you feel so dejected
'Cause half of your claims
Are being rejected.

So you pick up the phone
While computerized voices
Keep you waiting forever
Explaining the choices.

"Press 1 for directions.
Or maybe it's 2.
Push 'pound' for a message
It sucks to be you."

Then you pour out the pills
On your pill counting tray
And you count and you count
And you count pills all day.

And the customers gripe
And complain while you're fillin'
Could it be the whole world
Is on "Grouchacillin?"

"My pills are too big.
And my co-pay's too high!
Take it four times a day?
I cannot comply!"

Then you scarf down your sandwich
In one single bite
Which if done in a restaurant
Would be impolite.

But a Doc's on line one
Mrs. Jones on line two
She has 500 pills
Will you cut them in two?

And the drug reps, they tap
On your counter, tap, tap,
To give you their spiel
Plus a load of free crap!

There's pens and there's post-it's
There's free stuff galore
But the really cool clock's
For the doc who's next door.

Then ol' Mrs. Snifflemore
Gives you that smile
And you once again know
That it's all been worthwhile.

So you hang up your smock
And put down your free pen.
Tomorrow you'll do it
All over again.

Oh the things you will fill.
For the folks who are ill.
With your bright shiny spatula
Oh, what a thrill!

Nova's 6th Birthday

Nova turned six on January 17th!  She is such a big girl - and an interesting one, too.  If you know Nova you know what I mean.  Jess put on a quaint little birthday party for her with Grandma and Grandpa Marlor providing the life of the party.

She loves writing little notes on pieces of paper, playing with Squinkies (google it) and avoiding chores.

Love you Nov, happy birthday!

Stitches!

Asher came to visit me in the pharmacy.  He decided to make the visit interesting and fall onto his sippy cup!  Not the most exciting of war stories... and the result...

Seven stitches.  The ladies will love it down the road, Ash.  Look at that shiner!  Jess was a trooper and took him to get it sewn up - he was very, very vocal about his dismay: "No, no, go, go, help! My eye! Help!"

It isn't healing quite as well as we had hoped, but at least he has both eyes so what can we say.  :)

A Parker Christmas 2011

I know. It is February...  5 months away from half-way to Christmas 2012.  So, what am I doing posting these?  Well, I do it because I can.  Enjoy!

Asher HAPPY!

Cozy gathering in front of the fireplace... oh, Christmas.

Nova ready to go!

Morning, mom!  Merry Christmas.  :)

I'm not sure what this is...

We told Kadence that Santa was keeping it mediocre this year... she was surprised to see anything at all!

Cars!

Jess would never use this to listen to music... true story.  Good thing Morgan can make use of it!   :)

Evidence of Santa's extreme sneakiness... that guy...

If our Christmas letter didn't find you this year tell us and we'll make sure to get one to you next year!
